National Parks or Bust!
From April: We’re months away, have our spreadsheet organized (so we know where and when we’re going - and stopping), and are hoping the pandemic won’t be an insurmountable obstacle. A few more key reservations and we’ll be good to go!
Ah, the fun of anticipation. Friends telling us their favorite parks, where to river raft, hike, bike and eat. Reciprocal gardens to visit on our route (thanks, Flamingo Gardens membership!).
Hoping to visit our friends Pat and Barb near Edmonds (June 30), Hugh in Portland for July 11th, and to swing by Jeanette in Utah (Jeanette - remember to put us on your calendar for mid-day July 18 if that works for you).
So your advance suggestions are welcome! What to see and do en route, how to pack light for 2 months on the road (with 2 bikes on the roof), and pitfalls to avoid. Please advise!
Our route for The Great Road Trip of 2022?
Atlanta > Nashville > Kansas City > Brookings, SD
Badlands > Bozeman (Grey Cliffs Ranch - thanks, Alpha!) > Yellowstone > Grand Teton
Jackson Hole > Missoula > Seattle (Hi, Pat and Barb!)
Ferries to Victoria > Olympic National Park
Portland (coming to you, Hugh) > Stanley, ID > Sun Valley > Jeannette? > Rock Springs
> Rocky Mountain National Park
Taos > Santa Fe (looking at you, Sue!) > Austin (Sherry?)
Heading home end of July; whew!
We appreciate any and all suggestions, and will blog monthly until departure early June. Thanks for sharing our adventure with us (but not with anyone else until I get home)!
Hugs,
Fern and Tom
So excited to follow you on your summer adventure. I will try to take some notes as that is something Ron and I would love to do in a motorhome once he retires.
